I use to be one of those people, if I woke up late, became frustrated with something that didn't work out, had a "bad day" before the day was even over. I would literally set the tone for the rest of my day according to a single incident.

I use to become so irritated this would essentially leak into my personal life. I would become frustrated, stay irritable and end the day just the same.

At the end of the day as I look back at each moment of anger or frustration, I began to realize that after all it was never a "bad day" it was only a bad moment.

We create a bad day by reliving the same moment of frustration throughout the day and simply refusing to see it as a moment in time versus a ruined day.

"Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing at someone;you are the one that gets burned."

Buddha

Can you remember the last time you where angry or frustrated? Do you remember why? Can you remember a year ago and what made you angry and frustrated at the time?

I can tell you I would have to think long and hard before I recalled what infuriated me a year ago let alone years ago. It is no longer relevant to my current life unless I choose to bring it to the present moment.

When we hang on to anger and choose it as a poison to our life, it corrodes our ability to experience the joys of forgiveness, love, acceptance, forward movement.

You had a bad childhood, marriage, relationship, business gig, work environment, life? Good that means life happens. I can tell you I have experienced one if not all of the above.

The greatest gains in my life were create when I chose to get rid of anything that did no serve my higher purpose including the chains of frustration of the past and the way I reacted to any current situation and started to do something about it instead.

Life is but a moment, it is up to you to decide if you want to live your life full of anger and resentment or under the understanding that frustrations are not your enemy, but your moment of opportunity to learn, to develop and come into your higher purpose, work harder, to understand, forgive and realize how much stronger you are.

It's time to take charge of your life and take charge of your time. I invite you to stop complaining and start doing.

Follow these 3 Super Easy Steps and practice them for a week.

The only thing left to loose is your anger and frustration.

1. Every time a frustrating situation arises realize it is but a moment in time, not a day. I repeat these words every time something becomes frustrating. Developing awareness is the first step into taking control of all those things that create frustration, the more you become aware before shitaky hits the fan, the more you take control of every action and reaction from within.

2. When you feel yourself becoming angry or frustrated count to 10, take deep breaths, go for a walk, exercise, meditate, write, the point is to find an outlet to your frustrations. I find that stepping away clears my mind and allows me to think instead of reacting. It is better to step away in a moment of frustration than to regret acting in anger.

3. You became angry, reacted, so all this talk is bogus. Not really, it took you a life time to learn a specific pattern of behavior. A diet does not work in a day, poof you are now skinny. Nope, no my friend, there is no magic potion or spell that can help you with that. It takes practice, repetition, fall backs, step backs, until you are able to get a hold of yourself and turn around your patterns of behavior.

One more note, don't forget to be forgiving of yourself.

You will fall back into old patterns of behavior, you may hurt another, you may hurt yourself, you may go about for a day complaining about how bad your day is, you may wine a bit or a lot.

You may feel you have the right to complain and blame, but than again, that never did solve any problems in the past, perhaps gave you immediate gratitude, but no long term gains, until you actually did something about it.

Next time you become angry and frustrated, follow the 3 Steps above, go for a jog, take a deep breath, forgive yourself if you become frustrated beyond limits and realize life is but a moment, not the rest of your day.

I invite you to live your fullest and most vibrant self, take advantage of all your frustrations and decide to be the person who chose to do something about it.

Anger can be your best asset after all, if you only utilize it as fuel.

Can you share with us how you cope with anger and frustration in your life? I would love to hear your comments and suggestions on this topic.
