This year seems to have flown by, literally. November is here and soon enough it will be December, Christmas and Holiday Cheer for us all.

I love, love, the holiday season. The scent coming from the oven, hot chocolate, soups, pumpkin, and a delicious Thanksgiving dinner come to mind when I think of this month.

As we each gather with our friends and family around the table, volunteer at our local shelters, I can't help but pause and take a moment to be thankful.

I can't think of a better time to bring up the Power of Gratitude & why it is so important to include this simple word in your daily practice.

Gratitude is one of those words that promote mindfulness & awareness. It allows you to shift your mentality from lacking to appreciating.

I can say from personal experience and going through difficulties, what has held my head high and kept me motivated was when I chose to take the focus away from lacking to appreciating, from not enough to enough, from wrong or right to effort and results, from mistakes to lessons learned.

I can tell you that there are more than enough reasons, moments, and people to be thankful for, than the difficulties you may experience at times.

I am not attempting to diminish anyone's struggle, what I am saying is redirecting your focus onto what you have versus not, creates a space for your mind to begin to shift into appreciation and abundance versus struggle.

I want to share with you 5 positive impacts of gratitude and why I consider this word important for your business, life, and your overall wellness.

Gratitude is a simple technique you can apply at any moment of your life when you choose to pause, take a deep breath, and appreciate life.

1. When we show gratitude towards another person, we are validating their existence.

Nothing like seeing the smile on someone's face & the happiness it brings when they feel seen, heard, and appreciated.

2. Gratitude helps you focus on what you have available to you versus lamenting about what you don't have.

Oprah said it best "appreciate what you have, for you will end up having more, if you can't appreciate what you have now, you will never ever have enough."

3. All experiences are meant as part of your journey, so be thankful for each and every one of them.

Good experiences bring you blessings the rest bring you lessons, in the end, you will appreciate both.

4. Practice gratitude on the daily with every member of your family and see your relationships improve.

We tend to focus so much on what we don't do or lack, after all we are inundated through media with negativity in the form of news, illness, or violence. Pause hug your family & tell them how much you appreciate their presence in your life. You only have one life.

5. Gratitude just makes sense.

Would you do something for someone who is never thankful for the work and effort you put into something or would you want to hang out and go the extra mile for someone who is thankful to and for you. This one is a no brainer for me. I am always more than willing to hang and do for those who show gratitude. Think about this concept and apply it to your relationships, interactions, friends, family. A little appreciation goes a long way.

Gratitude is one of those magic words that when put into practice can improve your relationships, your mood, your interactions with everyone you meet.

I hope you pause, look at someone you love and appreciate it and take the time to let them know how thankful you are for the simple fact that they form part of your life.

I hope you pause, take a deep breath look at yourself and take the time to be thankful for how far you come.
